Harvest Festival Parent-Volunteer Participation Contest:

Harvest Festival is so much more than a fundraiser. It’s an opportunity to come together and build something extraordinary that creates magical memories for our kids and binds us as a community.

But Harvest Festival magic can only happen if we all pitch-in and volunteer. To sweeten the pot, we are pleased to announce our Harvest Festival Parent-Volunteer Participation Contest!

Class Prize: Any class that reaches 100% volunteer participation from every family in the class will win a Popcicle Party!

Grade-Level Prize: Any grade that secures 100% volunteer participation from every family in the grade will win a Pizza Party!

Sign-up now to Volunteer for Harvest Festival! Our kids LOVE popsicle and pizza parties and they will thank you heartily, not only for the party, but for getting involved and helping to build something spectacular (and spooktacular!) that they will never forget!

馃摚 Calling All Volunteers 馃憪

There are so many ways to get involved at McKinley, including volunteering at our many on-campus events and in the classroom.

But to volunteer on-campus during the school day, you must be a cleared volunteer, which means you have to be fingerprinted through Live Scan.

Your Live Scan clearance is good for your entire time in the Burlingame School District (BSD) - all the way through 8th Grade at BIS. For those who have been District-cleared volunteers in previous years, you are all set and ready to come to campus.

If you are new to volunteering, becoming a cleared volunteer is easy! To be fingerprinted through Livescan, fill out and bring this Live Scan form to any Live Scan fingerprinting location. You can do Live Scan fingerprinting at either of the UPS stores in Burlingame (the one in the Lunardi’s shopping center on El Camino between Trousdale and Murchison or on Howard Avenue between Park and Primrose), or any of these locations. Bring your completed Live Scan form with you when you are fingerprinted and let them know you are coming from BSD.

Once cleared, your clearance will be sent directly from Live Scan to the District. The District will then pass along your information to the Principal to be added to the official volunteer list at the site. The turnaround is generally as follows:

  • from Live Scan → District Office: 2 weeks
  • from the District Office → Mrs. SooHoo at McKinley: 2 weeks

Questions about whether your clearance went through can be directed to Ms. SooHoo, either by stopping by the McKinley Front Office, by phone (650) 259-3870, or email (lsoohoo@burlingameschools.org).

Please note: The procedure above only applies to volunteers on campus during the school day. District clearance is NOT required to volunteer at events outside of the school day (such as Harvest Festival), so you can do this type of volunteering while you wait for your clearance.

馃摚 ¡Llamando a todos los voluntarios!
